Democratic Labour Party Wins Barbados Election By Narrow Margin
The Democratic Labour Party has retained power in Barbados with a narrow election victory, according to preliminary results.
The win gives Prime Minister Freundel Stuart his first full term in office, after taking over as Prime Minister in 2010 following the death of former Prime Minister David Thompson.

Barbados is second only to Canada in the Americas on Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index report for 2012
International non-government organization Transparency International has published its annual report called Corruption Perceptions Index that shows corruption level in different countries.
Barbados ranked 15th out of 176 countries and territories in the report. Scoring 76 points out of 100.

Brazil swears in nation's first black Supreme Court president
AO PAULO, Brazil -- Joaquim Barbosa, a judge famous for his tough stand against political corruption, has been sworn in as the first black president of Brazil’s Supreme Court.
At the ceremony Thursday in Brasília, the capital, his work was widely praised by politicians, artists and public figures. He spoke of the challenges ahead for Brazil’s justice system.
Haiti’s President Martelly ends 1st year in office with a mixed record
Haiti's Michel Martelly was the king of Haitian music, a high-energy charmer who became president of a broken nation by promising sweeping changes in employment, education, energy, environment and the rule of law.
“Haiti is open for business,” Martelly declared as he took the oath of office on the grounds of a collapsed presidential palace, a tent city behind the iron fence serving as a visible reminder of the devastating January 2010 earthquake.

Somewhere in one of my blogs I mentioned that the "Arab Spring" could be followed by "Western Spring." Is the Tottenham, UK riots the beginning?
Governments/politicians must stop hoodwinking, scamming and dividing the citizens or I foresee terrible results. An example was the US Congress actions on raising the debt ceiling, vitriolic speeches, reduced benefits for the masses but status quo for Politicians and their cronies.
